A successful Alaska trip for the METAL crew and our annual "Clean Shores Program" in Prince William Sound. This year we used our freshly commissioned METAL PBR which not only was the lynch pin in the clean up it conducted its sea trials and passed all the tests. Some radar gear and survival equipment is being added readying it for next season for all GIANT's boating and fishing trips. A huge thank you to all involved.

The METAL has commissioned its first Naval Warfare Boat. The unit was hauled from Naval Station METAL to Anchorage, Alaska where it will conduct sea trials before joining the METAL Fleet. The boat was completely re-done and refurbished as a salute to the Sailors, Soldiers and Marines that served on the PBR's during the Vietnam War. After the boat has been okayed by the CPO it will join the METAL team for our annual Clean Shores Program in Prince William Sound. It will then be made available to all veterans for fishing or pleasure cruises out of Whittier, Alaska on a first come reservation basis. An E-1 can use the METAL boat before an Admiral or General and that particular officer will have to defer to our beloved enlisted troops. We would like to thank the Vancouver office of BC Sandblasting Ltd. that cleaned, refurbished, painted and customized the PBR out of their Chilliwack shop. Without their generosity the boat would still be in port with a long face on it.
METAL will keep you posted as soon as it's ready for battle.

On the company's annual trip to Alaska's Prince William Sound for the "METAL Clean Shores" program a couple of the METAL employees went beyond their clean up duties. Spotting a whale thrashing in the water the two employees maneuvered their boat closer to a gray whale. Discovering it was caught in a fisherman's net the pair pulled up next to the animal and after 20 minutes wrestled the net off freeing the grateful whale. Well done you two.
